Leeds Data Thing's thoughts and opinions - all in one place

Leeds Data Thing’s first event – a success!

March 25, 2013 by in Events, with 1 comment

A big thank you to everyone who attended Leeds Data Thing's first event on February 27th at the Cross Keys, Leeds.

We welcomed over forty of you through the doors of the Cross Keys to hear talks from ┬áTim Waters on OpenStreetMap and other Geo visualisation and analytics, Andy Bolton on geodemographic mapping of Leeds and Mark Barrett on making ‘stuff’ with data.

It was a truly exciting evening which paved the way for the creation of a Leeds data community – a place where likeminded people who use data in their working lives can come together to network, share ideas, learn a few things and enjoy a beer or two.

Rebecca Edwards neatly summed the evening up in her blog post – “I don’t like maths much, but I love Leeds Data Thing” which can be found here.

Were you at the first Leeds Data Thing event? How did you find it? We’d love to know your thoughts – leave us a comment below!
